U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff<\/strong> said Russian leaders told President Donald Trump<\/strong> they are not providing intelligence support to Iran<\/strong> during the ongoing war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI can tell you that yesterday, on the call with the president, the Russians said they have not been sharing,\u201d Witkoff said Tuesday in an interview on CNBC<\/strong>. \u201cSo, you know, we can take them at their word. Let\u2019s hope that they\u2019re not sharing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trump<\/strong> spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin<\/strong> on Monday, Witkoff said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the CNBC interview, Witkoff was asked whether Russia might be sharing intelligence with Iran about the location of U.S. military assets<\/strong>, and how that would square with decisions affecting sanctions that had restricted Indian refiners<\/strong> from buying Russian oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, I\u2019m not an intel officer, so I can\u2019t tell you,\u201d Witkoff said, adding that Russia denied any intelligence sharing during the call with Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Witkoff said he and Jared Kushner<\/strong>, Trump\u2019s son-in-law, separately participated in a Monday morning call with Yuri Ushakov<\/strong>, Putin\u2019s foreign policy advisor. Witkoff said Ushakov repeated the same message: Russia is not sharing intelligence with Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The comments follow a report by MS Now<\/strong> on Saturday, which cited two U.S. officials as saying Russia has been providing Iran with information that could help its forces target American ships, aircraft and military bases in the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cRussia is providing intelligence help to Iran,\u201d one of the officials told MS Now, according to the report.
