Padel Asian Games 2026 is now official, with the sport confirmed as a medal event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, scheduled for 19 September to 4 October 2026. The decision marks another step in the sport’s rapid expansion across the continent and its broader international rise.
Agreement Sets Framework for Competition Delivery
The confirmation follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC), the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), and the International Padel Federation (FIP). The agreement establishes the organisational and operational framework for staging the padel competition at the Games.
Under the terms of the agreement, the FIP will take primary responsibility for planning and sporting delivery, working in close cooperation with AINAGOC and under the governance of the OCA.

FIP President Luigi Carraro called the announcement a major moment for the sport, pointing to the Asian Games’ standing as one of the world’s leading multi-sport events. He said the medal confirmation reflects both padel’s accelerating development across Asia and its growing global profile.
The update builds on an earlier programme decision confirmed in November, when padel was included in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 sports lineup following the OCA’s recognition of the FIP. The newly signed memorandum now cements padel’s status as a medal discipline.
